News from Granny’s kitchen

CM Granny took some time to write two special recipes for our blog, I am sure you will love them…

buttermilk200.jpg Buttermilk Pie (also called Magnolia Pie)

1 9 inch frozen piecrust
2 cups sugar
1 stick or butter( room temp)
4 Tbs flour
3 eggs (slightly beaten)
1 cup Buttermilk
1 1/2 tbs Vanilla

In large bowl cream toghter sugar, butter, flour, add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla.

Pour into pie shell and bake for 1 hour or until a knife is inserted in the middle and is clean when pulled out.
“This recipe is quick, easy, and almost anyone can fix it.  It does not taste like buttermilk.  You may need to double and make two.  We usually have that many because it is just that good.”
